Pillion Riding Ban Not To Be Extended

Ban of pillion riding in Karachi has not to be extended as a decision of Sindh Govt. was made today. After increasing incidents of target killings of various political workers and activists, Sindh Govt. had imposed ban on pillion riding in Karachi till January 29, 2011.

Regarding its extension there was a confusion but now it is clearly announced that pillion riding ban is not being extended and the public of Karachi can ride double on a bike after 12:00 am tonight (29 January, 2011).

Lahore Blast at Urdu Bazar -13 Died

Huge blast at Chehlum Procession at Urdu Bazar, Lahore. Death toll rise to 13 while 84 injured including women and children. 4 policemen in the martyrs.

CCPO Lahore Aslam Tareen says that police saved the procession from large destruction. Policemen stopped the suicider out of security circle that saved the procession from massive damage.

Law Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah says that the assailant was stopped at the first check post and the tribute goes to security agencies.

Allama Sajid Naqvi and several other leaders condemn the suicide attack.

Karachi: Killings Continued Still on Third Day

Target killings still continue in Karachi despite meetings, announcements and actions. Several people died today in different incidents including Syed Badshah former town Nazim of MQM and some other political workers.

1 killed in Urdu Chowk, Orangi Town when unknown motorcyclists opened fire at gathering of people. In another incident one killed in Rinchor Line.

Culprits of Assault on Bashir Jan Arrested

Two culprits who attacked deadly on ANP Leader Mr. Bashir Jan, have been arrested from a private hospital in Gulshan e Iqbal. Two other culprits have been arrested from Orangi Town. A search operation was made by Rangers and Police and 22 suspects have been arrested from Orangi Town.

Karachi Unrest Continues. 24 Died in Two Days

Karachi unrest continues on Friday January 14, 2011. A series of killings which was started on Thursday continued next day with 12 killings on Friday. In several areas of Karachi firing incidents and target killing started  from Thursday including killing of News Reporter of Private TV Channel Wali Khan Babar. Later the series of killings extended and in many areas of Karachi, firing and killing of people started. Most affected areas were Orangi Town, Banaras, Liaqatabad and Kati Pahari near North Nazimabad.

Death toll in these two days has risen to 24. Orangi Town remained the most dangerous area in these days where 9 people were killed including a 7 year girl.

In Gulistan -e- Jauhar, Major Retd. Iqbal Kashmiri has been shot down. He was pilot of helicopter of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah. This incident took place in front of Rabia City in Gulistan e Jauhar.


Karachi Situation Critical
Another incident was occurred in North Nazimabad where a man named Naveed was killed at a barber shop. He is told a worker of a political party. Other incidents were happened in Banaras, Ajmer Nagri, Malir and Korangi. Law Enforcement Agencies seem totally failed to stop the terrorist activities going in Karachi.

Wali Khan Babar Martyr of Journalism 2011 Laid to Soil in Zohb

Wali Khan Babar, the martyred reporter of Geo News, has been buried in his ancestral village named Gardi Babar which is near Zohb. His body was moved from Karachi to Zohb through Quetta and then taken to his village Gardi Babar. As his dead body arrived Quetta, civil society and large number of journalists held a protest and block Chaman Quetta Highway.

On January 14, 2011, journalists unions and organizations held protests after killing of Wali Khan Babar. In many cities of Pakistan journalists of electronic and print media protested against the targeted murder of Wali Babar and asked arrest and punishment of killers of Wali Khan Babar.



ANP has announced 3 days mourning for the killing of Wali Khan Babar in Sindh. ANP President Sindh Shahi Syed has announced that ANP Sindh Offices will remain closed due to the murder of Wali Khan Babar in Karachi. He conducted a press conference regarding this announcement on Friday January 14, 2011. He also demanded the government to make the Karachi city weaponless without any bias.

It may be recalled that Wali Khan Babar was killed on late night on Thursday January 13, 2011 when he was on the way back to home from his office. He was shot down by unknown gunmen in Liaqatabad, Karachi.

Mumtaz Hussain Qadri,s Naat e Rasool e Maqbool ( Peace Be Upon Him )



Mumtaz Qadri Reciting Naat While He is Under Police Custody After Killing Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer. It may be recalled that on January 4, 2011, he killed Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer, and said that the reason of killing him was that he committed blasphemy in the honor of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (Peace be Upon Him).

Iran Plane Crash, 50 Survivors 55 Died

Latest plane crash took place in Iran where a passenger plane crashed. The crash of plane was happened in North East of Iran in the city of Orumiah. In the plane 105 passengers were aboard. Out of 95 passengers, 50 passengers have been rescued out from the wreckage; though they have got light wounds. The crash took place due to bad weather.

Iran's Fars News Agency reported that 50 out of 95 passengers have been saved. Still there is no confirmed information of the people died in the incident. Due to heavy snow across the crash site, rescuers were seeing complications. Plane was broken into many pieces.

According to Iranian Media, plane Boeing 727, was about to land that in the meanwhile this incident had taken place. Still efforts are ongoing to take out maximum number of people alive.

Karachi Situation Critical After Murder of Yawar Abbas

Karachi remained very critical today after target killing of MQM worker Yawar Abbas, in PIB Colony. Unknown motorcyclists opened fire at Yawar Abbas in afternoon today on January 08, 2011.
After his murder tension arose in many areas. Buses, motorcycles and a few other vehicles were set ablaze in different areas of Karachi by angry mob. In PIB Colony, during protest fuel tank of a burnt mini bus was exploded. 20 people injured due to fuel tank explosion. In other incidents, a man named Naeem was shot out in Hyderi, North Nazimabad. Several other incidents took place in different areas of Karachi in which Sachal, Quaid e Azam Colony, and SITE area are included. In SITE a policemen was killed by gun shots. Still several areas are in unrest.

Yawar Abbas was a senior worker of MQM and said to be former Unit Incharge of PIB Colony. His funeral prayer has been offered.

MQM Decides to Sit on Opposition Benches

MQM eventually has decided to sit on opposition benches. Decision was taken in simultaneously held meeting of MQM Coordination Committee in London and Karachi. MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has verified this decision. MQM leaders has announced that we cannot support wrong decisions of the government so we have decided to oppose the government and from tomorrow MQM will sit on opposition benches in National Assembly and Senate.

In the meeting of MQM Coordination Committee, it was seriously considered that the huge hike in the petrol price should be opposed and MQM does not agree on this issue with the government. Although, there were many other issues on which MQM has opposed government policies but the main cause is the recent hike of prices in the petroleum products.

Later this announcement, prime minister Mr. Yousuf Raza Gilani talked to media and said that government will have no effect after the separation of allies. Moulana Fazl ur Rehman separated from the government earlier and now MQM has declared to sit on opposition benches; Gilani said that government is still stable and neither of any effort will succeed to fail the government.

Now, Pakistan Political situation has become very vague and no one knows what is the political setup of Pakistan in the coming days.
