Gen. Pervaiz Musharraf vs Indian Media Anchor - Arnab Goswami



Increasing tensions at LoC also made debates and discussions on media about growing intensity at Pakistan and India borders everyday. Whether, it is battlefields, playgrounds or electronic and social media, current situations between the neighboring countries, is a hot topic and news, updates, debates come up with new events and situations. Pakistan Hockey Team was first expelled to home due to protests of Shiv Sina at Hockey Stadium where Pakistan Team was doing practice for their scheduled matches.

Recently, Indian Media anchor Arnab Goswami interviewed Gen. Pervaiz Musharraf (Former President Pakistan) and after receiving solid answers, the anchor ended up the program before its due time.

Karachi Situation Critical After Murder of Yawar Abbas

Karachi remained very critical today after target killing of MQM worker Yawar Abbas, in PIB Colony. Unknown motorcyclists opened fire at Yawar Abbas in afternoon today on January 08, 2011.
After his murder tension arose in many areas. Buses, motorcycles and a few other vehicles were set ablaze in different areas of Karachi by angry mob. In PIB Colony, during protest fuel tank of a burnt mini bus was exploded. 20 people injured due to fuel tank explosion. In other incidents, a man named Naeem was shot out in Hyderi, North Nazimabad. Several other incidents took place in different areas of Karachi in which Sachal, Quaid e Azam Colony, and SITE area are included. In SITE a policemen was killed by gun shots. Still several areas are in unrest.

Yawar Abbas was a senior worker of MQM and said to be former Unit Incharge of PIB Colony. His funeral prayer has been offered.

Karachi Fresh Incidents of Target Killing

On December 26, 2010, four people have been murdered in several firing incidents in Karachi, including two political activists. In a firing incident which took place in Block 4, Gulshan e Iqbal, unidentified terrorists fired gunshots outside Pakistan Peoples Party Gulshan e Iqbal Office, which resulted in death of vice president of Pakistan People Party PS-118 Mr. Abdul Hai Baloch while a worker of office was injured. After this occurrence, angry mob set tires, drays and carts ablaze. Unknown men started aerial firing and the whole area was covered with fear.

In another happening of firing in Bilal Colony of North Karachi, Mohammad Irfan was killed who was 36 years old and worked for Pasban Organization. Witnesses say that there were two motorcyclists who opened fire at Mohammad Irfan.

In Korangi 3.5, a dead body was found which was also killed by firing. Other incidents of firing took place in Malir and Banaras.

Zulqarnain Haider to Reveal The Match Fixing Players

Pakistan Ex-Wicket Keeper, Zulqarnain Haider has left a message on facebook that he will reveal the names of those players who were involved in match fixing and spot fixing. He said that he would expose the secrets about match fixing and spot fixing and those who are talking negatively about him.

Another threat has received by his family members. His wife received a threatening phone call in which the caller has intimidated them to face harsh consequences. The called told his wife that he is calling from Greece and caller's accent was in clear Urdu.

Zulqarnain's law adviser suggested him to not to talk to any media, but Zulqarnain has updated this controversial message on his facebook account. It may be recalled, that he was found missing during last Pakistan and South Africa series held in UAE.

Zulqarnain Haider Willing to Join Pakistan Team Again

Zulqarnain Haider has said that he is willing to join Pakistan Cricket Team again in condition of security assurance from Pakistan Cricket Board. Right now, he has been issued a temporary identity card by British Government after taking his finger prints. He is in Britain for time being, until his case reaches a decision.

Earlier, he left Dubai silently on morning of 08 November 2010 and appeared in London UK. Zulqarnain Haider said that he was threatened and asked to lose the final one day between Pakistan and South Africa held in Dubai on 08 November 2010. Zulqarnain Haider just left a message on Facebook that he is retiring from Pakistan Cricket Team and went away quietly.

Now, several rumors are circulating regarding Zulqarnain Haider's story. Finally, he said that he is not applying for Asylum. He says, "He is ready to go back to Pakistan if Pakistan Government assures his security. His family is pressurizing him for coming back to home". He said that he is constantly getting threats and that is the reason for his retirement from Pakistan Cricket Team. He also told that he has been investigated by Scotland Yard, Border Security Agency of Britain and British Police. Now any decision about Zulqarnain Haider's residence in Britain is subject to British Interior Ministry.

It may be recalled that he has played one test match and 4 one-day matches for Pakistan Cricket Team yet.

Supreme Court Orders DPO Sialkot for Arresting Escaped ASI

Supreme court has passed orders to DPO, Sialkot to arrest the escaped ASI Waris Ali within next 24 hours. It may be recalled that including Rana Ilyas, three cops have been arrested yet who were on the spot when Hafiz Muneeb and Mughees - two innocent brothers were being killed by a group of people.

Justice Ghulaam Rabbani and Justice Khalil ur Rehman Ramday have heard the suo moto case hearing in the supervision of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftakhar Muhammad Choudry. Khwaja Haris - Advocate General has told the court that three policemen who were present at the tragic event and they did not control the mob to kill those innocent brothers hence Waris Ali - ASI could not be captured yet. Court further asked the authorities that if some influential is hindering the capture of ASI Waris Ali, then his name should be brought before the court but DPO says nothing like that.

Hearing was adjourned at the order of capture of ASI Waris Ali in next 24 hours.

Massive evacuation from Thatta is ongoing after fear of flood to Thatta. Also the people of Dadu have started moving to safer places. Merciless flood torrent is imminent to these cities. People are moving to safer places by self aid. Latest news told that breach in MS Bund has caused the huge evacuation from historical city, Thatta. Flood is feared to hit Thatta on Friday.

Citizens are moving towards Makli and they are under the open sky. District administration said that flood is expected to hit the city by Friday evening. People of Thatta are despaired as they are having such situation first time.

MQM Has Tabled Two Motions Against PML-N

Deputy Convenior of MQM, Dr. Farooq Sattar said that they have tabled two motions against PML-N, in National Secretariat. First motion says about the deal of Mr. Nawaz Sharif with dictators according to which he went abroad. He demanded to bring forth the facts of that deal.

Second motion is regarding the hidden relations of PML-N with Army. They accused that in the past Shahbaz Sharif and Choudry Nisar have had secret meetings with army but they could not get the confidence of the nation.

45 Lac People Affected of Recent Flood

The spokesman of Human Rights - UN, has said that the number of recent flood victims in Pakistan has reached to 45 lac. Just in a single day, it increased with 3 lac. They also told that this flood has destroyed 2 lac 52 thousand houses also. They emphasized that aid is needed on large scale.

Flood is on the way

Flood from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on the way to south of Pakistan i.e. several areas of Sindh. Some areas of Sindh have been declared vulnerable and Pak Army troops have reached for proactive rescue of the affected people.

Killings in Karachi

In different parts of the city, several killings have been reported. The number of killed people has been arisen to 13 in two days. The affected areas include Chakiwara-Lyari, Qasba Colony, Baldia Town, Numaish Chowrangi and Orangi Town. Most of these incidents took place last night.
