Karachi: Violence Still Uncontrolled, Death Toll Reached 18

In Karachi, violence is still uncontrolled as 16 people lost their lives in fresh incidents of firing in several areas. These 16 people including one policemen have been targeted to kill in last 24 hours on 23 and 24 March, 2011.  The policemen was identified as Arshad Kundi, Head Constable, was killed in Sohrab Goth. Other people were killed in several other areas in which Teen Hatti, Maripur, Moosa Lane and some other areas. A bus was torched in Golimar Area after killing of political worker in that area.

An office of a political party was also attacked by grenades, hence no human lives lost in that because office was not open at that time. After this critical situation of the city, people of Karachi are fearful due to the continuous firing and target killing incidents in the city.

In the deceased, there are several activists and supporters of MQM. Farooq Sattar has called a press conference today, requesting President Asif Ali Zardari to take necessary actions against the killers who are involved in target killing of MQM Activists and Supporters. He also said that these terrorists are challenging the writ of President Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi.

Rehman Malik has ordered the Rangers to fully control the Karachi city to cope up the ongoing situation and to maintain the peace in the city.
