JF-17s of PAF Escort Chinese Prime Minister



Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao has departed back to China on Sunday December 19, 2010, after 3 day visit to Pakistan. Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was there at Airport to see him and his delegation off. Additionally, members of federal cabinet and some military and government officers were also present to see Chinese Prime Minister and his delegation off.

Wen Jiabao also met Chinese citizens who are working in several projects in Pakistan, at airport who were also present at airport while his departure. Those Chinese citizens were flying red and green flags at the airport to reflect close ties between Pakistan and China.

Wen Jiabao came Pakistan in the result of invitation of Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. He met in Pakistan with President Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, as well as, some other politicians of Pakistan. During his visit to Pakistan, several memorandums and understandings have been signed and planned to put $25 billion Chinese investment into Pakistan in next coming years. In addition, Mr. Wen Jiabao addressed parliament and called on with several people in Pakistan and urged to strengthen the mutual friendship further.


It may be recalled that Chinese Prime Minister Mr. Wen Jiabao was given a VIP welcome by Pakistan Air force. As his plane entered the Pakistan Air Jurisdiction, Pakistan JF-17 Thunder Planes surrounded his plane for his honor and and to present a VIP escort. Four JF-17 planes covered his plane till the landing on Chaklala Airbase, Rawalpindi. It was a unique type of welcome to any guest, in the world history.
